2860ac and multiple switches was created by tcr_busworks
Hi,

I've bought a second switch for my 2860 router, and I've plugged it in like so:

Router LAN1 - Switch 1
Router LAN4 - Switch 2

and plugged a synology server into switch 2.

When I try and connect my computer (ethernet, switch 1) to the synology (ethernet, switch 2) however it can't see it, and using a network scanning software the synology doesn't show up on the network.

Plugging the synology into switch 1 solves this.

How do I set it so that everything on LAN 1-6 can be seen by everything on LAN 1-6?

I hope I've explained myself clearly, I'm not hugely tech-savvy with these things when it gets tricky.

Thanks very much!

Have you enabled VLAN's under "LAN >> VLAN Configuration" ?

In simple terms are your LAN1 devices getting a 192.168.1.x address and LAN4 getting 192.168.4.x addresses?

As above - -check your vlan assignments to each of the network ports

LAN >> VLAN

if you have no need for VLANS then disable, otherwise you need to ensure that P1 and P4 are both on the same vlan (most likely vlan0), adn that your general Wifi SSID is on the same too (assuming wifi devices require access to the local LAN resources and not just the internet)
