Has anyone used this feature yet?
Great idea and easy to implement. However, I have noticed that unless you click the accept button everytime you use your phone (iPhone in my case) then you don't get internet access.
So, if you connect, the page pops up, you click accept and then use the internet. You close your phone and then a few mins later go back to your phone then internet access does not work. You have to make it show the Hotspot message again to click accept and then it works again.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong or is this how it works?

Are you turning on/off Wifi? In hotels (not DrayTek I assume) I see all sorts of different systems/behaviour. The feature is beta right now, not officially supported so hopefully they will welcome feedback to improve it but I don't think it should work like you describe so check with them; perhaps there is a setting.
