I am trying to add a newly purchased switch (P2261) to external devices using my Draytek router (2860) firmware 3.4.4.

It is in the same network,same subnet as the router but it cannot find it. I keep getting the following message when refreshing External Devices.



Is there some step I missing? Some configuration that needs to be made on the Switch?

Not sure related but if I look at connected LAN devices in router Dashboard, the switch cannot be seen

Have you tried power cycling the switch? It's possible if it's on its default IP settings that it booted without network connected, which would result in it going to its default of 192.168.1.226 rather than a DHCP address. Rebooting the switch with the network connected would allow it to get an IP through DHCP.

I have given the switch a static ip, 10.0.0.17, subnet 255.255.0.0 which is on the same network as the router, 10.0.0.1, 255,255.0.0. Still not discovering the switch.
