I have a single SSID across both bands on the 2860ac and I'm trying to replicate that with a single AP 902 (i.e. both bands) under Universal Repeater mode. Is this actually possible? I tried to run the wizard to have both bands as Universal Repeater but it stated that it could not be done.

Should I be using Universal Repeater or should I be using another mode to replicate the SSID? The reason why I purchased the AP 902 is because the WIFI signal in our bedroom is poor. Rather than wire the AP to use POE from the 2980ac via a POE switch I'm trying to use WIFI to connect the two.

With that network scenario, connecting the VigorAP 902 to the Vigor 2860ac would work best using 5GHz Universal Repeater - that is effectively a network uplink that will work for the VigorAP 902's LAN ports and both wireless bands once it's established.

Did you get this resolved? I've got moreorless the same scenario, but have never been able to get the 902 to work reliably.
