I replaced my aging 2820Vn with a 2860Vac and now my ADSL uplink speed is 50% worse !!

I am running the recommended code 3.8.4.6_BT.
I tried both DSL modem Code firmwares AnnexA_576D17_572801 and AnnexA_574307_571801, same speed.
Also local Attenuation reading has gone up from 18db to 23dB. I am using all the same cables.
The FAR SNR is super high 24db and that is probably causing my slow upstream speed.

Anybody any ideas on this ? or as it is an FFTC modem does nobody test this ADSL2+ mode much ?

Should I raise a ticket with Draytek ?

Cheers smiler

Here are some outputs from 'show adsl' from the 2820 and 2860 respectively...

Try using the Non Vector firmware , you have no use for vectoring on that line .

I use a Vigor 130 and the "BT" firmware is useless , it causes continual line drops/session disconnects and on an ECI street cabinet G.INP and Vectoring are not going to happen. Changing to the alternative firmware (non vector) sees a dramatic improvement in performance and stability.

Others have also found changing to non vector has cured problems.

I just tried the non-vectoring firmware version 3.8.4.6_STD and it is the same. Got a bit more uplink speed, now 440kb/s .

As my line is not yet FFTC, just plain ADSL2+ I am not sure vectoring is in the game... but thanks for the idea..

Strange how downlink speed is so very close to max attainable, which ok.
Upstream max attainable is over 1000kb/s (more like it!) and I only get 440kb/s after last reboot, but far 25db SNR .. too big!

My feeling is a firmware pb. I will see if Draytek respond, they are normally very good, had all their routers post 2600we days
which is stil runing fine at a friend's house.

Any other ideas ??

Cheers

Dratek support said leave it with firmware 3.8.5.BT and after a week of so, and a few reboots, router is back to normal speed up and down..... very strange indeed...
Thx to Draytek support
