Dual WAN DNS Issues was created by abilas
Hello

I have Draytek 2862ac router, WAN1 is setup with DSL and WAN2 with Virgin (Ethernet to Virgin Hitron Router).

The issue is that I want to route all traffic via WAN2 and all SIP traffic via port 5060. When I enable Load Balancing / Routing Policies DNS breaks. I can ping sites via IP not name.

Disabling the policies seem to bring everything back to life but clearly defining load balancing policies break DNS.

Anyone else had this?

Setup policy for SIP
Setup catchall policy to route all other traffic via WAN2

Thanks
Terry

Try using the "Diagnostics >> Route Policy Diagnosis" feature to prove that your DNS requests aren't going out via WAN1. Virgin Media are very mean with their DNS servers and only allow access via a V.M. IP address.
