2850Vn connected via modem was created by tourcd
Hi,

I have a 2850Vn connected to a Netgear DM200 which has been put in modem mode and is dialled up to PlusNet (AKA BT). The ethernet connection out of the DM200 goes straight in to port 4/WAN of the 2850Vn.

I've set up WAN2 to connect via "Static or Dynamic IP" and requested "Obtain an IP address automatically" and set MTU values etc.

Nothing appears in the WAN syslog and the Draytek doesn't connect.

Can anyone shed any light on this? For instance would I have to take the MAC address of the DM200 and put in to the "Specify a MAC Address" section in relevant boxes or are PlusNet expecting to see my internet address in the WAN IP Alias settings page?

Many thanks

I'm not familiar with either of those models but I suspect, as with other DSL modems, that you should use the Draytek in PPPoE mode with your Plustalk username and password inserted as appropriate and vlan tag if that is required.
