Vigor 130 Dropping BT Connection was created by mychips70
I have been using the Vigor ok for a number of weeks and all been ok but now it drops connection after a period of time usually between 24-36hrs where it refuses to connect and i end up putting the BT Hub 6 back on the system and disconnecting my TP-Link TL-R600VPN from the network so plugging the BT HH6 directly into my Procurve Switch. I really dont want to be using the BT HH6 but its the only piece of kit that is keeping a stable connection at the moment.

I know everyones kits is slightly different but if someone has an idea why the Vigor 130 keeps dropping the connection i would be very grateful, also what is the best firmware to be using with BT Infinity ? is it the current "BT" or another version. all feedback greatly appreciated.

My Setup is as below (when working correctly)

Darytek Vigor130 Modem
TP-Link TL-R600VPN Router
HP Procurve 1400-24G Gigabit Switch
UC Connect Cat6 Patch Panel
BT Whole Home Wifi Mesh System (3 Discs)
HP ML350-G5 Server Dual Zeon CPU (for backups and NAS Storage)
HP Z400 SIngle 3.02Ghz Zeon CPU Main PC and PLEX media server

You're probably connected to an ECI street cabinet and they struggle with the "official" BT version of the 130's firmware.

Try using this firmware instead >>>> Vigor 130 3.8.2 Alternative Modem Code 579F17 Firmware <<<<

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but what is the easiest way of checking which type of street cabinet I am connected to? Can it be gleaned from the details in the web interface available on the Vigor 130 (VDSL Status)?

TIA!

An ECI cabinet will show <IFTN> that uses the Lantiq/Infineon chip .

Mine is showing BDCM (I presume that's Broadcom).

Thanks very much to you both for the quick answer!
