Can anyone tell me how or if it's possible to block Discord on my 2862 ? Searched the forum and Google gives me mixed results.

Thanks.

You could set up a URL filter perhaps. I use that for other sites/services and it works.

Hi Admin,

Have tried that but does not block :-( I also use this method to block other sites OK.

I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to get a dedicated hardware firewall such as the 2960?

hmm, APP enforcement doesn't recognise Discord. I wonder if LAN DNS could help.

Try creating a profile in LAN DNS (in the Applications menu) with the following settings:

Tick Enable
Profile: Discord
Domain Name: *.discord.gg
CNAME: Ignore this bit
IP Address List - > CLick Add. In the pop up enter 127.0.0.1

Click OK to save.

This will make any DNS resolution to anything discord.gg for example gateway.discord.gg or www.discord.gg resolve to 127.0.0.1 which is the PCs own loopback address.
