Vigor LAN ID was created by weehappypixie
Hi,

I just purchased a Vigor 2860vac and was wondering if someone can remind me where I go to set the name that is presented to the LAN on windows 10 via Ethernet.

When I connect my Windows 10 identifies it as DrayTek as shown here

On my old 2860 I managed to change it but cant remember how I did it. I have tried sys name and sys domainname to no avail.

Can anyone help.

Thanks.

John

I thought this was a Windows setting, rather than a Router setting :?: ... though perhaps Windows uses UPNP to come up with a default, if nothing's set within Windows...

(In my case, it's set via Group Policy, though I seem to have mislaid the corresponding .admx file ... and now only know the location in the Registry, where it ends up. :( )

Afaik the network name shown there is a Windows setting. There's no facility to set it on the router.
