temporary user to access router was created by jasonmilsom
I have had a request from one of our clients to allow their CCTV engineer access to the router so he can change some settings. I do not really want to give him the admin username and password as I have this set for multiple clients.
Is their anyway to set up a temporary user to allow this via the LAN? where do I configure this and how?
Which I can then delete/deactivate once he has completed his work.

Yes, you can set up additional users and delete them afterwards, but it depends on which model you have - you didn't say.

Hi yes sorry
we use 2872, 2860,2862 routers, I have added an additional in user management-user profile with the name guest and a password ( to test), but it will still not allow that account to log in.

Hello Jason,

You need to do a little more work in System Maintenance > Administrator Password, or System Maintenance > User Password (for setting up a restricted version of the Admin Web GUI). I think you can probably work out what the settings do.

Hope this helps

John.
