Firewall rules "Pass immediately" was created by icarusbop
Hello:

I've just followed a guide on how to block (for example) YouTube - the block is working fine but I'm a bit confused
When setting up the filter rule the guide said to set the rule to "Pass immediately", then at the bottom select the URL block I had built.

How can this block anything if it is set to 'Pass immediately'?
I suspect I'm misinterpreting the meaning and the manual is no help, this is one part of the config, I've never managed to get my head around!
Please can someone explain the difference in the rule settings:
"Pass immediately"
"Pass if no further match"
"Block immediately"
"Block if no further match"

The "immediately" options do as they imply - are acted upon immediately if they trigger; in which case, that is the end of rule processing for that Filter Set.

"if no further match" can be used to set a default for that particular Filter Set ... so you (I) tend to use them in the 1st rule (of the Filter Set). Processing continues until a more specific matching rule is encountered - in which case it will be actioned. If no such rule is encountered, the default set by "if no further match" will occur instead.
