Best router for a leased line was created by triumphtech
Hi Everyone,

We have a customer who will have 30 MB leased line, is there a suggested model of Draytek to run with this service or will all routers with a gigabit Ethernet WAN port be sufficient?

I've used 2850, 2860 and 3900 on a 100mb leased line. Had a slight issue with the 2850 overheating due to us pushing it too hard I think

If it's going to get heavy use then maybe one of the more expensive models such as the 3900 or 2960 would be best

I'd recommend going with a 2960 if solely using a leased line.

However if you are also considering having a DSL for backup and/or load balancing then a 2862 would be a better choice as this has a built in DSL modem on WAN1 and WAN2 could be used for the leased line.
