Draytek have recently released a new firmware (3.9.0). Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with this firmware?

That firmware was only released @ 12 hours before your post, I think you will need to wait a week or so before people get around to trying it.

Overall system is stable but some features are still buggy.

WiFi is still awful on the AC model, nothing new though WiFi has been pretty poor on every draytek ive used in the past 4 years.

USB disks whilst detected won’t mount, tested about 10 different models (USB 2/3/3.1) all using FAT32 but none mount.

I’ve not tested OpenVPN.

I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago myself and have today reverted back to 3.8.9.2. The Wifi as you say was appawling and the AP roaming seemed to be completely broken. Shame as this update had a few features I would of really liked. Staying on 3.8.9.2 until a few revisions come along I think!
