problems with 2850 / 2860 router was created by mason64
Hi,

i have got a 2850 router and a 2860 router, the 2850 router was working fine with on issues then i picked up a 2860 from a customer who said it kept dropping out every 10 minutes.

I got the 2860 router home and tested it to find it was dropping out every couple of hours and it got worse and worse as the days went on to 10 mins or so.

I plugged my 2850 router back in to find it wont even connect to VDSL any more. please find below an image.

any idea's on what i can try or the problem maybe?

Thanks
Dave

Daft one but go back into the Internet Settings for WAN 1 and renter your DSL Password and click ok. reboot the rooter when prompted and let me know what happens.

Can you show me the settings in both WAN General for WAN 1 and Internet Settings for WAN 1 please

Puzzling that your WAN1 status shows "Dial PPPoA" - I thought PlusNet (as with others) used PPPoE. You have filled in the correct (PPPoE) Internet Access page?

Thank you for the replys

This is the router that works but cuts off randomly (10 mins, 20 mins, a few hours, but always cuts at least 5 to 20 times a day and reconnects and works fine when connected)

below is my 2850 wan 1 page

As you can see this one doesnt connect at all or seem to get a signal from the phone line (seen in the image on the first post).

the 2860 that connects and drops out has this as the physical connection page if that helps in anyway.
