Vigor 2862ac and ZEN Internet FTTC was created by alan.druce
Has anyone managed to get the 2862ac connected to a ZEN FTTC line ?

Am using WAN 1 VDSL2 port to avoid using a separate BT modem.

I can get line to sync but never connects fully so no assigned ip address. ZEN say settings look correct
but between us we cannot get it to connect. Errors seem to suggest I am not receiving any response
from ZEN end.

So if anyone has got device to work what settings were used ?

I had no problem connecting a 2862ac to Zen, although I have since reverted to a 130 and a 2925ac to avoid DLM reducing my speed due to the frequent router reboots required when changing settings.

From memory in General Setup VLAN tag insertion 101

In internet access PPPoE enable, insert username and password.

That's it as far as I recall.

Sounds same as I used.
Firmware = 3.9.0_BT

General Setup
DSL Mode = VDSL2 only
DSL Modem Code = Default
VLAN tag Insertion
Customer = 101 priority 0 enabled
Service = 101 priority 0 disabled

Internet Settings
PPPoE / PPPoA
Channel 1
VDI = 0
VCI = 38
Encapsulating type = VC Mux
Protocol = PPPoA (tried PPPoE as well)
Modulation = multimode
User and password ok, retyped MANY times !
WAN connection = PPP detect
MTU = 1492 (tried 1442 as well)
PPP / MP setup = Pap or Chap
ip assignment = dynamic
default mac address

Exactly as ZEN recommend but still fails to authorise. Line status is SHOWTIME so DSL syncs but never connects.
Problem started when Vigor 2830 router using BT modem failed to connect after power cut.
Windows 7 pc connected direct connection to BT modem.
2862 connected to BT modem also failed to connect. However should not need BT modem as 2862 has a VDSL2 modem
built in, its why I bought it.

In your general set up I think you only need to have the Customer VLAN Tag Insertion populated (leave the service fields empty). That's what I had set for my old VDSL ZEN connection and it worked just fine on my 2860Vac.

Before you ask I'm now on Zen Fibre 4 (G.Fast) so I'm using the little Hauwei MT922 modem on WAN 2.

I agree, Customer VLAN tag should be one set to 101.
Dont think you can leave service VLAN tag blank BUT you can disable it, which is what I tried.

When I moved from VDSL to g.fast I was unable to authenticate on Zen's radius server. This was because their radius server still showed me as being connected. It's a real pain and required one of Zen's engineers to delete my profile completely from their systems, then rebuild the profile over again.

As soon as they'd done that - Presto authenticated and on online.

It's probably worth checking SYSLOG to see what errors you are getting during authentication.
