I’m after some info as two of my clients want a 4G failover and both have Vigor 2860n routers. I could do with answering the questions below:

Can I use any ISP Sim or would you recommend I use certain one as I believe I need an APN? and was wondering is this hard to get hold of?

Should the VDSL broadband go down will the 4G USB LTE Dongle automatically kick in or will I have to login into the router to manually change it.

Any thoughts on the above and the best USB Dongle would be appreciated.

It's hard to find compatible dongles and USB isn't ideal...so if they can afford it, upgrade to a Vigor 2862Ln where the SIM is all built in. Any network should work (you set the APN yourself on the router) but it depends if you need a fixed IP/no-NAT.

I got a PDF from DrayTek that recommended several singles which are widely available online.

With regards to the APN where do I get that information from.

We will be getting a static IP so anymore advice would be appreciated.
