optimum settings? was created by rmistry22
Hi everyone,

Just wondering if someone can help with some simple stuff.

Previously connecting using my PlusNet home hub one I was getting around 32Mb/s down and 4.2Mb/s up, initially I got 30Mb/s down and 4.0Mb/s down from my new Draytek 2862ac, I expected this to settle and go back up. A few months have now passed and I am now at 27Mb/S down, 4.2Mb/s up???? What do I need to tweek to get my speed up.

I was particularly interested in the modulation, mine is set to multimode, but I have several articles that suggest it should be set for G.IMP to improve performance.

Any help / input appreciated.

Hi,

Just to confirm, you're running your tests with just a single device connected to your router? And it's connected via Ethernet cable?

If so, where I would start is checking your SNR margin. If it's higher than 6 it could indicate excessive noise on your line. Provided that's clear I would then determine your ISPs max MTU and ensure your router settings match. You could also play around with the modem codes but personally I've never had to do this.

Regards,
Sean
