Vigor2860n WLAN Menu Missing?? was created by richardjb
I apologies if this has been answered elsewere, I have seen LOTS of similar emails but NO solutions.

I have a Vigor 2860n and recently noticed Wifi Issues but when I logged into the router to check settings I noticed the menus were missing - I've now tried most of the firmware variants on the FTP site -- https://www.draytek.com.tw/ftp/Vigor2860/Firmware/ with the RST and ALL files, performed inumerable resets, but nothing works. I am now using my trusty old TP-Link, but would prefer to get the Draytek working.

I assume this is a Draytek Bug / Code Defect, is there a Solution known?

Thank you in advance

Not something I've encountered, but ...

You could try the 'UK' firmware, from here: https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-2860

If the Wifi function just stopped working, it could be a hardware fault. I think Draytek's routers use a plug-in Wifi module, that you might be able to 're-seat'. Unusually, for me, I've not dismantled my 2860  - so this may not be the case.

Otherwise, you could log a call with Draytek: https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/contact-support , or failing that, enter into dialogue with the supplier: https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/what-do-i-do-if-i-have-a-faulty-product

Yes I've tried them all -- the menu has simply vanished at some point I presume after a firmware upgrade.

Ill probably try the support page thank you but was hoping someone thats also experienced it, chirps in. The router is only just over a year old :-(

Have you switched the wireless off - button on the front on the device

No, Ive not switched it off, at least that I am aware of -- although I didnt know that switch was there (I don't use WPS)

What is more interesting is that after Telneting to the router there are no WL options in the CLI -- so its like the entire Wireless LAN capability has been deleted, yet the rest of the router is working fine

Any ideas anyone??

If you switched off Wifi with the switch, you can still re-enable it via the GUI.

The fact that there is no sign of Wifi-related options, means the firmware has not detected the Wifi module (the same firmware is used on wireless and non-wireless models).
So either the Wifi module is kerput ... or if you're really lucky has managed to fall out (Assuming that this model does in fact have a removeable Wifi module).

(Or possibly, because you have a totally inappropriate firmware loaded)
