Hi,

I'm not an I.T. pro and I'm struggling to get the 500mbps Virginmedia service through a 2925ac router connected to Virginmedias Hub router, seems to top out at around 240mbps. If I connect the Mac mini directly to the Virginmedia router I'm seeing 500+mbps! Any ideas would be gratefully received. Just to add, these are hardwired using CAT6 cables.

Thanks

I had the same issue a few months back when connected via a Virgin Media hub. My solution was to rearrange the wiring at both ends of the cable from T-568B to T-568A and the speeds shot right up.

Is the cable quite long between the Virgin hub and the Draytek? It could be picking up interference if it runs alongside electrical cables or appliances.

Thanks James, will take a look, and make up a T568A patch cable.

Not sure the Vigor2925 can do 500Mb/s actually.

(though in many situations, it doesn't matter.... who actually needs 500Mb/s :-) )

It's only good for 300 at best so you need to buy another as the speeds are going up maybe worth forking for a bit of extra speed in the future.
