Hi,

Recently upgraded to a Draytek 2862 from an ASUS DSL-AC68U for the more advanced features. While all is well stability-wise, the connection speed on the upstream far less than received on the ASUS router.

Currently on Plusnet Business VDSL (FTTC) - using Speedtest.net (multiple tests at various times)
- ASUS: Down/Up 36.6Mbps/17.70Mbps
- Draytek: Down/Up 36.76Mbps/14.82Mbps

Looking at the DownStream and UpStream connection speed, I can see the Draytek consistently syncs about 3000kbps lower. I've let it bed in for about two weeks now, but there has been no change. Also read as much information as I can and tried all the settings (I understand), including:

- VC Mux/LLC (seems to be a little faster using the latter)
- Modem Profiles
- Various BT Firmware (3.9.2 currently)
- Hardware Acceleration
- QoS (disabled)
- DDos Protection (all off)

Any ideas?

Maybe you can use your old ASUS DSL-AC68U, (or ISP supplied router) in Bridge mode, attached to the 2862's WAN2 port?

(I'm a refugee from the Virgin Media world, where you had to have an extra device in the system, so wouldn't see it as a too big a hardship )

So the downstream lock is unchanged, but the upstream is slightly different?

Correct. Locks in at 39998Kbps/18827Kbps on the Asus and 40000Kbps/15900Kbps on the Draytek. Looses about 3k on the Upstream.

I did think about that, I remember the days of the old BT ECI modem! Kind of defeats the objective though, I could just kept the Asus and put a SOHO firewall behind it. Would be nice to have a single appliance that does everything though.
