Hi,

Rewiring the network and brought a Google Nest Router for the WiFi. So now I have 2 routers... and two networks, and 2 NATs.

Next best idea is then to move all my lan behind the Google router so that all my devices (wired and wireless) can all be back on the same network and talk to each others the easy way.

But what do I do with my 2862 ? I think I should enable bridge mode and that would then pass my public ISP address to my google nest router, and remove that extra NAT. But then how do I access the 2862 if I need to? So I think I am missing a trick here... does bridge mode means one specific port (which one ?) must be connected to the google router and I can still plug a laptop in the other remaining port and get an IP from the 2862 to access the configuration?

Whats the purpose of the 2862 in this proposed set up - are you just actually using it as a switch...?

Not familiar with the Google wifi, but I'm guessing you couldn't do it the other way around and put the Google router into bridge mode behind the 2862?

The 2862 was my modem/router/switch. I had a WiFi AP attached to it but I only had trouble with WiFi hence the move to something more robust.

The 2862 worked well for what I was doing at the time, but all the features are not really needed for me anymore. I will just use it as a posh modem for now. VDSL is pretty robust with it so no real need to change it. Just want to get rid of the double NAT

Let me see if that helps. This is where I am now:

(ISP) -> [Drayek 2862]--(192.168.1.1/24)-->[G Router]--(172.16.17.1/24)-->[my devices]
.........(82.12.23.34).........................(192.168.1.20).....................(172.16.17.20 .... etc ... )


So if I change the 2862 to be in bridge mode, I think that's how it will be:

(ISP) -> [Drayek 2862] --(82.12.23.34/32)-->[G Router]--(172.16.17.1/24)-->[my devices]
....................................................(82.12.23.34)......................(172.16.17.20 .... etc ... )

So my question is: how do I then access the configuration on the Draytek?
