Sadly made it worse. Drops every minute with that setting.

Theres a new firmware on global site. Seems to break Syslog unless you untick the option to send the router info, then it seems to work ok - the Syslog app just dies without doing this for me.

Improved: Support options of 2.5G and 1G_AN modes for P1/P2 on Port Setup.
 Improved: Adjust router’s self-signed certificate to comply with new browser restrictions.
Start on 2020-09-01, many client OSes/browsers will enforce publicly trusted TLS server
certificate lifetime to 398 days or less, and connections will be rejected if the certificates
violated this rule, so this firmware patch will automatically re-sign all the self-signed
certificates lifetime to 395 days (was 2 years or longer in older versions).
 Improved: Improve fragments/buffer handling.
 Improved: Improve the VPN stability.
 Corrected: An issue of debugging log when exception occurred.
 Corrected: An issue of DHCP obtaining wrong gateway MAC address.

Got the new global F/W thanks. Sadly still can't get it to syslog. Other devices syslog fine so it's not aserver issue. I have unchecked the router info box and left the other checked.

Syslog does work normally on latest and previous f/w. The topology here is unclear though, i.e. where the syslog server is (I havn't read everything). If this syslog is going directly or through a VPN to an MSP then maybe that's the factor. Maybe change syslog server ip to a WAN IP such as 1.1.1.1 and capture the packet from the V3910 WAN, to see if it's sending out UDP Port 514 to 1.1.1.1 (test locally too). If that does work, maybe the firewall is blocking (or the MSP, but unlikely).

Hi,

The syslog server is on the same site as the 3910.

Syslog server: 10.0.2.220/24
3910 LAN: 10.0.2.254/24

I have a switch on the network: 10.0.2.200 that can syslog fine to 10.0.2.220/24 (With the Draytek Syslog server software) so the server software appears to be fine as it receives syslog from the switch (A HP Switch)

Sadly the 3910 doesn't seem to send the syslog.
