2926 Mail Alert SMTP Port was created by tfurnell
I am trying to set up the Mail Alerting on my Vigor 2926, but every time I enter the SMTP port to 587 (as required for the SMTP service I am trying to use) it changes back to 25 when I press OK. I have tried re-entering all fields and changing various other parameters, but nothing I do stops the port value reverting back to the default after trying to save the new settings. If I change Connection Security from StartTLS to SSL then the same thing happens with a port default of 465 this time.

I am running the latest firmware, could this be a bug or is the SMTP port actually not changeable even though it is editable?

Hmm - having read your post I decided to check my 2926 "Mail Alert" setting. At first sight all seemed to be well - my smtp port was 465. However, if I try to change it e.g. to 587 it now reverts to 25 as you say. I can't change it back to 465 now, although I don't recall that it ever worked properly anyway.

I had set 465 some time ago, so this seems to be a bug in the more recent firmware

Interestingly, I can change the port in the "Mail Profile" section.

I see on the .com site that new firmware for the 2862 is claimed to have "corrected" the issue - so we shall see if 2926 follows suit...
