Vigor130 - where is the syslog menu? was created by butako
I would like to configure my Vigor130 to send its syslog to a remote server however there is no Syslog options in the web interface.
Drayteks website (https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-syslog) show a screenshot of syslog being under the System Maintenance menu, but this simply does not exist on my device.
Model: Vigor130
Firmware: 3.8.4.1_BT
How do i configure syslog please?

I don't see any reference to a 130 syslog on that Draytek.co.uk link you posted. Not really surprising, as the UK version of the 130 is not a router, it is purely a modem.

As @Piste Basher says, there is no syslog for a Vigor130 , it has zero routing or firewall functions as it is a modem, not a router.

The VDSL/DSL stats can be found in the top right of the GUI page , middle icon " Web Console" .

command is
vdsl status ---- and /or
vdsl status more.

Thanks for the info. However in the console I do see the options for syslog (pasted below). Are you saying these do not actually work on the Vigor130?

> sys syslog
sys syslog show
or
sys syslog -a <enable> [-<command> <parameter> | ... ]
Usage :
-a <enable> : SysLog Access Setup (0: disable, 1:enable)
-s <enable> : Syslog Save to Syslog Server (0: disable, 1:enable)
-i <ip> : Server IP address
-d <port> : Destination Port(1-65535)
-u <enable> : Syslog Save to USB Disk (0: disable, 1:enable)
-m <enable> : Mail Syslog (0: disable, 1:enable)
-f <enable> : Firewall Log (0: disable, 1:enable)
-v <enable> : VPN Log (0: disable, 1:enable)
-e <enable> : User Access Log (0: disable, 1:enable)
-c <enable> : Call Log (0: disable, 1:enable)
-w <enable> : WAN Log (0: disable, 1:enable)
-r <enable> : Router/DSL Information (0: disable, 1:enable)
-t <enable> : AlertLog Setup (0: disable, 1:enable)
-o <port> : AlertLog Port(1-65535)
Example :
sys syslog -a 1 -s 1 -i 192.168.1.25 -d 514
sys syslog -a 0

How can they work when those items listed do not exist in the modem ?

There are no firewall/routing/VPN or any other feature listed there to log in this model.

Draytek produced a Vigor 130 modem/router for Europe and other parts of the world and a modem only version for the UK. Stupidly they gave both devices the same name/model number and people get very confused .

Your device does nothing but act as a modem, your router does everything else and that is what you would want to get your logging from.

I use the Vigor 130 attached to an ASUS AX92U router , I can see the modem stats in the Draytek GUI and get a syslog from the router as that is where all the functions are.

Thank you everyone for clearing this up. The product naming convention is indeed quite confusing.
I would like to log my line sync speed, and since there is no syslog, i guess i'll have to write some code to poll telnet and collect the vdsl status periodically, sending it to syslog. Not ideal!
