2952 End OF Life Support was created by ftlandrew
Hi

With the 2952 being announced as EOL, how long do Draytek generally continue with firmware releases for EOL products?

Is it worth putting 2 of these HA into a production environment or will they be completely abondoned soon?

TIA

Technical support is 'indefinite'. Firmware updates tend to continue for some time for fixes or vulns. - sometimes years. After all, just because production stops 'today' people will be buying them for some time and installing them as new products. What is less likely is new firmware for new features - that R&D work will be reserved for new products or
those still in production. In 2018, DrayTek issues firmware for products 10+ years old to address an issue, even though it was highly unlikely that any of them were still in use - DrayTek can do that because they control/write their code for nearly all products - not OEM swith a badge stuck on it, where the OEM sees no benefit.

Also, V2952 shares a code-base with other products which are still current, so it's easy - i.e. not much extra effort I'd guess to maintain current and new firmware.
