- I have a Vigor 2862n.
- Connecting a SATA 2TB with USB C to the Draytek router via the USB port does not seem supported[?]
- How can I access this external hard drive on the network? Currently, connecting the hard drive to a network connected computer is my workaround.

How can I connect the hard drive through the router without a NAS? Would a "USB C to Ethernet Adapter Gigabit" option work so that it is connected via ethernet to the Draytek router? Are there any other suggestions please?

Thank you.

Is your hard disk formatted as FAT32? The router USB does not support NTFS.

Whether there is enough power from the USB port is another question, assuming that you are expecting it to power your disk....

I don't see how the ethernet adapter could work as you can't assign an IP address to a hard drive...

As said could be power issue. See the manual from pg.696 or the online guide here .

I previously asked about 2TB drives here . The 500GB max reference could be old. It doesn't seem to be in the product manual itself.
