Hi Folks

I'm very much a novice, just moved house and new FTTC connection drops a couple of times a day, which are fairly random.
Just exchanged a few emails with my supplier and the response is that the Router is at fault.
This is the data i sent

This is the response,

Interesting, every PPP drop is User Request, so it is the router, not Openreach, who is dropping the sessions.

any help would be really appreciated.
Cheers

It looks like you're getting CRC and ES errors which would normally indicate that you're getting a slight noise on the line every now and again that's cutting the broadband.

Firstly how is the router connected, are you just plugged directly into the main socket, or an extension?

Do you have a VDSL front plate installed?

If using a VDSL front plate and it says 5C on it make sure that it's not come loose and the tabs are securely in place (you wouldn't believe how many faults are caused by loose front plates).

Also make sure all leads are good and if you can plug a telephone into the PSTN socket try to listen to see if you can hear any noise on the line (not possible with SOGEA though).

It may still be caused by an external factor but make sure things are good your end before getting an engineering visit.

Thanks TxRx

It is a master socket with a faceplate and it does say 5c so i will check later and respond. It isnt SOGEA so i will also check for noise.
