Draytek 2865 ADSL Connection Issue was created by umzpms
Hello,

I currently have a Draytek 2865 set up for an ADSL2+ connection. It connects fine and we can use this, but it disconnects intermittently and the router stays up. There are alot of TX CRC errors (around 62600), not quite sure what this means - can anyone explain? Line test has been conducted but it comes back passing every time.

Thanks for any help.

This is indicative that there's a line issue. However, this can be anywhere on the network: filter, master socket etc. Therefore, you should check by connecting to the master socket to start with, and test with a different cable. A methodical approach is recommended with one thing being tested at the time.

Also, CRC errors can be as a result of REIN, so there are lots of potential reasons for them to appear. Inevitably, a long ADSL line will be prone to noise, too.

At this stage, provide us with stats and also who the provider is.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I do believe it is a line issue as it intermittently drops the connection and come back on. When it is on, it can be stable for a good few hours before this turns off. The ADSL connection is provided by Vodafone. What sort of stats do you require?
