Finding IP Address of Device was created by cosmarchy
Hi,
I have a wired connection between my BT SmartHub2 to my 2927AX WAN1 port. The 2927AX has a static IP of 192.168.1.1 and the SmartHub has DHCP, Firewall, UPNP and wifi disabled.
I need to know how I find the IP address of the SmartHub in order to get to it's configuration webpage. If I connect to the 2927AX on its wifi, I can connect to the internet, so there is some traffic going through.
But I cannot connect to the SmartHub via it's wifi as it is disabled and when I plug in a wired connection I get an IP address of 169.254.136.114. I've tried angryIP to search between ranges of 169.254.136.0 & 169.254.136.255 but it only shows my laptop 169.254.136.114.
I've also tried WireShark on the wired ethernet connection to see whether there is anything obvious but I cannot see anything which resembles the router name - maybe there is something else but I'm not familiar with WireShark.
How can I find the IP of the SmartHub configuration webpage? Is there anything in the 2927AX which will assist here?
Thanks

I've found out that I can get access to the SmartHub on 192.168.1.254 if I plug in to it directly with a cable but not via the 2927AX wifi or cable.
I also have an error on the main dashboard (I assume it is an error anyway as it is in red???) which reads:
Not sure whether this has anything to do with the fact that I cannot access via the 2927AX...
I also have an error on the main dashboard (I assume it is an error anyway as it is in red???) which reads:
LAN 1 and WAN have the same IP subnet
Not sure whether this has anything to do with the fact that I cannot access via the 2927AX...

You should make your 2927ax LAN 192.168.0 .1.X.
