Just upgraded my 2927 a noticed it now has wireguard VPN.

Anyone else tried it on the release version? When I scan the QR code I just get an error saying "unable to import tunnel : Unknown section in config"

Yes, Wireguard VPN works perfectly.

For an incoming connection "VPN and Remote Access >> Remote Dial-in User" you have to scan the code under
"VPN and Remote Access >> Remote Dial-in User >> WireGuard Peer Setting >> Client Config Generator",
not the code from "VPN and Remote Access >> WireGuard".

This guide https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/7661 is for Vigor2962/3910, but you can use it for 2927 also.

Has anyone tried Wireguard as a VPN client using LAN-to-LAN? I can connect to various services (eg Proton) without an issue but the speed is SO much slower than IKEv2 it isn't appealing to use it.

Is anyone aware of any tweaks that can improve the speed?

Same. Out of my 2865, Wireguard performance is half what it would be with ikev2. The CPU is pegged so that's going to be the bottleneck.
