Suitable Router for CGNAT was created by TagHillian
I am considering using a Vigor 2927ax (
https://www.draytek.co.uk/products/business/vigor-2927ax
) to connect to my ISP. My ISP provides a FTTP, Full Fibre, UltraFast Broadband service, but uses CGNAT.
Will this be a suitable router to connect to this service?

Both my 2925 and 2865 connect to CGNAT FTTP providers but you will lose the easy access to internal services a fixed IP address gives. If you don't need that then I can't see why a 2927 would not connect to a FTTP provider using CGNAT. You will just be connected via a shared IP address instead of a fixed dedicated one.

The 2927 router will be fine (as will any recent Draytek really).
The point I would consider is througput.
I've not had much luck with the hardware acceleration so assuming you are using a UK "AltNet" (my guess because most of the older ISPs don't have to use CGNAT) you may find that even the 2927 doesn't give the full package speed.
If you have 500Mb/s or below then it will probably be fine. A 1Gb/s service may not achieve the 940 Mb/s (ish) you might be expecting.
