2865ax, Device already registered was created by zac123
Hello, This is my 2nd 2865ax. I bought this one used from ebay. Its working fine and before attempting to do anything with it I did a factory reset and then updated to the latest firmware.
When I try to register the router using the Product Registration link on the admin panel it tells me the device is already registered. So it would seem a factory reset does not reset the ownership.
Can anyone help me with this please? This must be a common issue in the 2nd hand market.
thanks
zac

Pretty sure the original owner has to remove it from their myvigor account before you can register it on yours. None of this is held on the device itself, it's with Draytek themselves.

Yes it's looking that way. Ive spoken to the chap i bought it from but it sounds like he's an officer clearance company so no idea where it came from.
I'm going to open a ticket with Draytek and see if they can help.

Hi zac123,
Have you tried the telnet command
'service -c'
It's listed in the manuals as:
"service -c | Clear current owners account information."
See this one, for the 2927, but all are pretty similar command lists here
