As support have told me this isn't supported, I'll add to the wishlist to ask that they add support.

This has been discussed before. It can't be done because in the idle state, the phone is 'switched' to the VoIP circuit, not POTS and BT send caller ID BEFORE the phone rings. You can put a caller ID unit next to your phone but plugged into the POTS line directly (on a double socket).

I have 2.8.2 firmware and the issue is still there.

As above, I think it's just not possible.

Not practical if you use DECT phones, especially several of them around the house. Can't dash to the socket to find out who's calling! :lol:

As I mentioned on another thread, the most practical VoIP device I've got is my Nokia N80. Integrated VoIP support over wireless LAN, including proper support for SIP addresses in the phone book, so I can call xxx@xxx.xxx style addresses.

Downside is the N80 sucks for battery life with WLAN. Makes it impractical as left subscribed to the VoIP provider it will be dead within a couple of hours .

Some of the newer Nokias are better apparently for WLAN battery life apparently, but I've yet to try them.

Bigger issue though is really finding a use for VoIP. I know people with VoIP accounts but of course they are never using one that's partnered with what I'm using.

With a mobile I can do VoIP anywhere I can find a wireless hotspot, which is a bonus, but the downside is I've never really got it working reliably on public hotspots, if at all.
