Console port output was created by ianjrobson
Hi Guru's,

I have a Vigor 2960, P2500, G2500 & P2280 which I've setup, however I haven't managed to get any sensible output from a connected console on any of it yet. I'm connecting with a USB to RS232 adapter (I have 2 different makes) but I cannot get any readable output on the terminal, despite having it setup correctly with:
Baud rate: 57600
Stop bits: 1
Data bits: 8
Parity: N
Flow control: none

I've tried using PuTTY (serial) and TeraTerm but can't fathom why I'm getting no human readable output. Does anyone know if there are any settings I haven't set/checked/updated?

I am assuming of course that the console should be accessible using a USB to RS232 adapter rather than having a naitive serial port (which is extrememly rare on laptops nowadays).

All help greatfully received.
:-)

All of those products use 115200 as their baud rate, you'll get garbled / no output at lower baud rates.

It should work with a USB to RS232 adapter, especially if you've tried two of them.
