Connecting an Avaya IP Phone to Vigor 3300 was created by adrianswindells
I am trying to connect an Avaya IP phone to our Vigor 3300 router using IPsec VPN and can't get it to work. Has anyone got any ideas?

Is this a 46xx phone using the VPN firmware?

If so I'm working on this now and just wanted to know if you got anywhere?

Did either of you have any success with this.

I have been trying with a 2800 and have not had any luck.

Don't use the cheap Avaya IP phones that have to "download their OS" everytime they boot from a PC running "Manager".

Stump up for the better model, that has it's OS loaded, with a web interface, and you access it via web browser and tell it the IP of the phone system.

This is what we did, and I curse the waste of time we had when our supplier just picked the cheap Avaya IP Phones and didn't put more thought into it (they're supposed to do this for a living!).

Now I know as much as them in regards to setting up Avaya IP Phone systems!

What's the model number of the "better models" and I'll try that. I don't have to download the OS everytime but I don't think I can browse to the phone. I have a 4610SW IP and can run it on an ACM or IP Office plugged in direct, I guess you're running on an IP Office as you mention Manager.

And you've got it VPN'd to a Draytek too?

THanks

Chris
