VPN issues was created by adamt24
Hi guys,

I'm trying to set up a site-to-site VPN link between a Draytek 2800 and a Draytek 2820, I have set up the VPN details as per usual but when I try pinging the external IP addresses from one router to the other and vice versa I get "Request Timed Out" consistently.

Both are configured with static external IP addresses. I have got both router config pages open on my browser so they are both connected to the net and both are connected through the same ISP.

Any ideas?

TIA

If you are pinging the external static IPs are you sure you have allowed Ping requests.

On the 2820 under System Maintenance->Management, The default has Disable PING from internet checked!

Hi,

I have managed to ping both routers.

I have set up the VPN connection a number of times from scratch but am unable to get router one (2800) to dial the 2820. It just wont have it. I've set up a number of VPNs but this one just isnt working.

Out of interest should it work if one network was 172.16.1.0 and the other is 192.168.1.0?

Any further help would be appreciated!
