Hi All,

I am new to this router. It was configured everything already in my office. I have given the new work to use the public IP given by BT and to create our own website in any one of our LAN computer. I done the port forwarding and but i couldnt able to do it.

Actually I couldnt ping my public IP which given by the BT from outside computer. its saying timed out. But this IP was used in VPN connection and that was working properly. Nobody in my office knows how the old settings was done. I predict that they have hidden this IP from outside world to protect from hackers. I dont know how to enable this..

Please help me.

Thanks
Rams

Not sure about your model, but on the 2820 the ping reply from the internet is switched off by default.

The setting on the 2820 to enable it is at:

System Maintenance > Management > Management Access Control.

THere are tick boxes to allow remote access uing http, https, telnet etc and to allow/disallow the ping reply.

I guess the settings will be somewhere similar on your model.
