Is it possible to have a vpn tunnel from an openvpn client (dd-wrt router) to a 2950?

OpenVPN is an SSL VPN...which despite what you may think is not compatible with the SSL VPN implementation on the 2950.

Without going into a lot of details, no it won't work.
