2820 VPN issues using Windows 7 client was created by roboughton
I have a 2820 with latest 3.3.3_23201 firmware

On the 3.3.2 firwmare or what ever the old one was I used to be able to connect using a PPTP/MPPE and RDP via netbios name or IP

with the new firmware i seem only able to conect Via IP

I can now however connect uisng a L2TP connection and get a IP which makes me happy, but I can only use IP to RDP on this connection and that does not always work on every connection.

I have seen under the user settings on the router that it now has Netbios Naming Packet & Multicast via VPN and you can pass or block I have them both set to Pass

Can any one help me with this as we have shares from NAS drives and we would like to use netbios names for users to connect rather than IP

Would you mind posting the settings/steps you followed to create the VPN on Windows 7? Can't get mine to work properly.
