Vigor 2820 - VPN Problems / Windows SBS2003 was created by yanayaya
Hello Everyone,
I apologies if this is in the wrong location.
I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to offer some form of help with a problem that I am experiencing that I have never had to deal with before. It is important to note that my problem is not with the VPN Facilities of the 2820 router itself.
I have 3 VPN users at a remote site. These users run Windows XP and the built in Windows VPN function to dial the public IP Address of our Draytek Vigor 2820 router which then uses port forwarding to send them to our Primary Domain controller (Small Business Server 2003) for authentication with the Active Directory.
It all seems simple enough, however the users are being disconnected after 2-3 minutes with no real reason as to why, they simply get a message saying the connection has been dropped. I have to troubleshoot this problem and it is driving me insane and I have to check that the router is not the cause (we have just bought this 2820).
1) VPN-Remote Access is NOT enabled since I want the users to simply authenticate with the server which seems to work fine.
2) NAT -> Port Redirection is set up as VPN Port 1723 forwarding to our PDC.
Are there any settings that I can ensure are setup that may help? Is there an easy way to check what is going on or why the connection is dropping?
I am at a loss and really need some help.
Thanking you in advance.
