Can't access remote DNS was created by jamespigott
Does anyone know how I can config the vpn connection to access the remote dns?

It seems that I can not do this as part of the DNS setup under the TCP/IP settings. I use "Smart" VPN to connect.

I only have a simple network at home and do not use a dns server. To be honest I've no idea how ip and names are solved! At work I have started to setup a dns server - which works fine locally.

Thanks in advance!

After further study it would appear that the VPN ipconfig shows that the external IPs for the DNS run by the ISP have been set. How can I set my internal DNS for this VPN connection please?

My internal DNS has been set up to forward to the external and the router V2820 set up to point to the internal DNS first. So where has this config come from? Will it be fixed by 3.3.3? Am about to take the plunge hoping it will fix the ping issues.

Version 3.3.3 works fine for me! DNS issue cleared up which of course also speeds up comms no end. Hurray! :D
