No PING across working PPTP lan-lan was created by sean.hennessy
Hi Room
Ive setup a PPTP using a 5510 as the main VPN server and have a 2820 connecting in from a remote office all under static external IP addresses.
The remote office can use all our servers etc, however i cannot ping a device at the remote office from inside the main office across the link.
I have setup a test dial in vpn the other way into the remote and when i connect to that i can ping, however i need to be able to ping without dialing in..
Any advice very welcome.
Cheers

It is not the solution to your problem, but if you're doing a router-router VPN it is generally better (more secure) to use an IPSec VPN and they are normally pretty easy to set up.
Are the two subnets at either end of the tunnel different?

Hi
Yeah thanks for the comments.
I have just implemented the IPSEC Lan to Lan which tooks its time to connect but works now.
Yes the subnets are different - but the problem i had was that the 2nd IP address on the router was conflicting with the subnets.
Just a hint to make sure that its set to disabled i guess.
Cheers
