Lan to Lan VPN drops after 50 Seconds was created by cisco-kid
I have configured an IPsec site to site VPN between a FortiGate and a Draytek 2820. I got the VPN to come up but it keeps dropping connection after 50 seconds and then instantly reconnects. So it is working fine for some data connections like remote access to mail, but others are not working because of it.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any way to solve the problem.
Draytek is running latest firmware.

It helps if you set the IP address of the enable ping keepalive to a valid internal address!

Do you even need the ping keepalive? Can you set the 2820 to always on or its timeout to 0? On the Fortigate is there any similar option or else does it support dead peer detection?
