I am having some problems with a recent network re-configuration. I have Virgin media as my broadband provider who supply a netgear router. I have disabled the DHCP function on this device and have connected that to a Vigor 2110n which I use as my router for all wireless devices and some PC & MAc's. This gateway has the same subnet and the IP is within the same range (192.168.40.xxx) however when I try and ping the router using he virgin media router I dont get a response?

I am trying to connect to my NAS box which is connected to a switch (netgear GS105e) on the network. I was trying to setup NAT to connect to the NAS or would it be better to setup a VPN? Is this a simple task?
