No PPP Control Protocols Configured was created by kerrywales
Hello,
I have a 2820VN at my office with latest firmware (as checked today). I use Smart VPN 4.0.0.3 to connect. All is well for most of the time. Occasionally when trying to connect I get the message
"No PPP Control Protocols Configured "
and it does not connect. If I restart (switch off then back on) the 2820 at my office all is well again.
What causes this to happen? Why do I have to keep resetting the 2820.
I have 3 remote users using Smart VPN and 3 static VPN tunnels (Draytek 2 Draytek)
The remote worker VPN is PPTP with encryption no authentication method, no to using default gateway on remote network. As I say the 2820 in the office has to be reset on average once a day. Sometimes we can go a few days without a reset then we will have to 3 or 4 in the one day.
I am trying to stabilise the connection. Can anyone help.
Regards
Kerry

set the encryption to minimum 40Bit (on the router UI), and authentication to mschapv2 on the client.
does that help ?
