2830 to 2820 IPSEC VPN was created by mattsecker
Hi there,

I followed the instructions here to setup a VPN between a 2820 - dial out and a 2830 - dial in: http://draytek.com/user/SupportAppnotesDetail.php?ID=155 but cannot get the VPN to work?

Anyone's help is appreciated

Thanks

There are numerous reasons why this might be the case.

What type of security are you using? PPTP, IPsec, L2TP? You need to ensure that the configuration matches at both ends of the VPN. If you are unsure about this then it might be best to start off with a PPTP connection, just ensure that the username/password are the same at both ends of the tunnel. You can then ignore the rest of the IPsec options on the router.

The other thing that often stops a tunnel are the LAN settings at both ends of the VPN. Ensure that the 2 LAN's are running on different subnets, for example:

LAN1: 192.168.1.1
LAN2: 192.168.2.1
