PPTP problems with 2850 was created by alexmordue
Setup:
Draytek 2850 (FW 3.6.1) WAN1 connected to a ADSL AnnexM enabled line.
Two IPSec LAN-to-LAN vpn tunnels
PPTP host-to-LAN vpn authenticated against Radius server (also a couple of local database users for testing)
The ipsec L2L tunnels are absolutely fine, no problems there.
PPTP connections initially work fine, but after a few days (7+) users are unable to connect. Hooking the router up to a syslog server we get the line below, repeating every 2 seconds:
<141>Apr 18 08:38:30 draytek: PPP Closed : Idle Time-out (VPN- Profile index = 2, Name = IPSecTunnel2, ifno = 11) 192.168.50.1 18/04 09:38:35.094
Once this message starts repeating in the log, PPTP connections can no longer be made to the router.

Hi ALex,
Ive had this problem similar to thisbefore. sounds like either the firmware is flaky, or your router is overheating (due to poor ventilation) this may imply firmware problems - ours eventually died (and older 2810 )
I would suggest two things.
1. firmware upgrade
if that doesnt fix it
2. Go and buy a analog timer switch [ from maplin/dixons/currys ] and set it up to come on at 8am and power off at 8pm [ or whenever suits] . The important thing is to power it off, and allow it to cool down - is it hot? rather than rebooting it.
If you still get a problem then i would expect there's a hardware problem on your router.
