A local charity has two locations with the 2600plus installed at one and the 2830n at the other. The 2830n was a replacement for a 2600plus that was damaged by a lightning strike, which also damaged the built in network adapters on PCs that were powered on at the time. The LAN to LAN connection has worked without problems for months, but failed earlier this week. There had been a number of electrical power failures in the 2600plus location. The IT service and support company that installed the 2830n has managed to get the link up again, but it is only working one way. That is to say, it is possible to access devices, files and printers at the 2600plus location from the 2830n location, but from the 2600plus location it is not possible to get a response from a ping to a computer or the router at the 2830n location.
Can anyone suggest what might be done to resolve the problem, or is the best solution to replace the 2600plus with a 2830n? :? I have wondered whether the problem is caused by the 2830n not accepting data from the 2600plus, or is it the 2600plus that needs to be fixed. All suggestions most gratefully received!
