VPN for Voice and data with fail over - Help Please was created by solarsystems
We are looking to configure the following
Two sites both with two ADSL connection - different providers.
One ADSL connection for VOIP & Second for Data both running VPN to link them together.
We are looking to create a fail over for the connections but am unsure how the best way to set it up.
My idea was 4 X 2850's with site to site VPN , one for data and one for voice. If one of the connections fail then it would use a wan connected link from the other connection.
However we also need to ensure the VOIP VPN's have priority to ensure quality.
Setting the main site for dial out will be fine its just when the remote site main connection is down and using the backup WAN connected broadband.
Im thinking of setting it to dial out to the main site on the backup wan which should only connect if the main broadband goes down.
My question is will this work or should I look at using a different Draytek product?
Thanks

you should be able to do it with 2 x 2850s and use the Dual WAN and load balance policies.
I take it by using a 2850 you have VDSL (WAN1) then use WAN2 for the other connection
Create the two VPNs and then create the specific policies you want.
You can prioritise the UDP phone traffic two
.
The Load balance policy has a auto failover option too but I have never tested it
